Educator Profile
I have been teaching art in Middletown City Schools in Middletown, Ohio, for 23 years. I spent my first 19 years as an elementary art teacher, building a strong foundation in helping young students explore creativity and develop confidence through visual expression. After nearly two decades at the elementary level, I felt ready for a new challenge and an opportunity to grow professionally, which led me to transition to the middle school.
In my current role teaching 8th-grade graphic design, digital arts, and photography, I have found renewed energy and inspiration. I truly enjoy working with middle school students as they begin refining their artistic voice and technical skills. Guiding them through both their creative development and personal growth has been incredibly rewarding. I especially value working with higher-ability students who are ready to push their ideas further—whether through digital photography, design projects, or new media exploration. I love experimenting with new technologies and creative processes right alongside my students, modeling lifelong learning and a willingness to take creative risks.
“Creativity takes courage.”
